However, promoting tourism, another traditional pillar of the city's economy, is just as much part of what we do as supporting innovative sectors of the economy, such as the high-tech and media industries.We deal with fundamental economic and employment policy issues, handle economic development projects and manage local government investments in the corporate sector. We pursue a defined local government employment policy and operate programs to provide training and qualifications, thereby helping to reduce and/or avoid unemployment. Nor are our activities restricted to the Munich region: we maintain a network of contacts and memberships in organizations throughout Europe.
