Munich Airport

Munich Airport is located some 22 miles northwest of the city centre. Allow around 45 minutes to reach the airport from the city. You have several options: suburban trains (S-Bahn) will depart from the city centre approximately every 10 minutes to take you to the airport (S1 and S8 lines). Lufthansa Airport Bus serves the same route between 5 a.m. and approximately 8 p.m., leaving every 20 minutes. In addition, there are some 3,500 taxis in Munich that will take you to the airport quickly and safely no matter where in the city you may be.

Trains

If you are travelling in southern Germany or in the direction of Austria and Switzerland, taking a train will usually be your best option. The German Railroad serves almost all important cities.

Travelling in Europe

Renting a Car

General Information:

If you are a tourist, driving a car in Germany usually doesn’t pose much of a problem. German roads are in excellent condition, but you will run into lots of traffic. In Munich city centre, parking is scarce; that’s why we recommend you take a taxi or use public transport to get around.
