Lead-managed by the municipal Department of Arts and Culture of Munich, MaximiliansForum is a space for cutting-edge exhibition projects. Interdisciplinary working protagonists of Munichs contemporary art scene like Florian Süssmayr, Ayzit Bostan, Mirko Hecktor or Pollyester develop new concepts for temporary projects, located in the large-scale underground passage. Mixing different media and genres, border zones are fathomed and the public space is utilised in an exceptional way by the artists.
This unique, centrally located space under famous Maximiliansstrasse has acted as a platform for experimental, multimedia-based art since the 1970's. Painting, performance, design, new media, fashion, music, installation and film blend into a unique entity within a particular urban context.
The underpass is publicly available 24/7 and free of charge.
