lothringer13

Operating as a venue for contemporary art and modern media, the municipal institution lothringer13 houses the lothringer dreizehn exhibition hall, the spiegel art archive and a function room for video performance and installation art by the "program angels". The former factory building, located in the middle of Munich's Haidhausen district, is used under varying arrangements as a presentation venue primarily for new art.

The lothringer13 – Städtische Kunsthalle München (Munich Municipal Hall of Art), under the direction of Uli Aigner, is designed to offer young artists an environment in which to produce and present their art, so that these young talents can establish themselves on the national and international art scene as well as take part in the discourse conducted by the Munich art scene and its numerous institutions of contemporary art.

As of January 2007, there are a total of four separate exhibitions being put together. Cooperating closely with the respective artists, we provide for support programmes including guests of national and international stature.

The result will be a dense web of official and semi-official exhibitions, events and publications reflecting the conditions under which young local artists produce their art and their individual fields of interest with the aim of promoting both.
