Our factors of success
Customer orientation in the service of the common good
We see ourselves as a service provider to customers both inside and outside Munich's local authorities. We are dedicated to serving the common good. To the greatest extent possible, we engage in constructive dialogue to resolve potential conflicts between the divergent goals of local residents, business players, the city's administration and the political arena.
Compliance with open-market standards
In developing our products and services, we consistently seek to comply with the business standards that apply on the open market.
Identification and motivation
Our work can only focused and successful if our people are highly motivated, willing and able to cooperate, dedicated to their work and able to identify with the department's mission.
Teamwork
We go about our work in an atmosphere of trusting and interdisciplinary collaboration in a team context. We seek to remain flexible and able to learn. This requires all of us to remain open, self-critical, committed to a process of ongoing change, and sufficiently flexible to respond to new situations and requirements. We constantly strive to improve our communication structures.
Organizational, financial and human resources
Suitable organizational forms and financial resources, adequate personnel and modern tools are necessary if we are to discharge our mandate effectively. All our people are put through a carefully planned program of personnel development and advanced training. All employees are encouraged to take initiative and shoulder responsibility. The terms of the administrative reform are being implemented systematically.
Mutual trust and a positive working environment
Creating and preserving mutual trust and understanding is an ongoing process to which everyone must make a constructive contribution. This attitude fosters a positive working environment. The "Principles of Collaboration" that apply throughout the city's administration are applied on the ground day in, day out.
Target agreements
The overriding goals of the department are broken down into concrete targets for each specialized unit. These targets are constantly being monitored and revised to ensure that they remain valid and feasible. Everyone at the department plays a part in this process.
Organizational capacity
On both an internal and external level, we strive to ensure that the organizational capacity needed to realize the economic policy goals of the City of Munich are continually reinforced and improved.
