Project sponsorship
Projects run under the umbrella of the Munich Employment and Qualifications Program (MBQ) contribute to giving more equality to women and girls in education and at work. Projects are sponsored in all three program areas, e.g. for female immigrants, highly qualified women and recipients of social security. At the same time, the MBQ responds to companies' interest in providing qualifications for female employees.
One example is the "Girls in Science and Technology Agency" project at Munich's University of Applied Technology (TU), which serves to broaden the scope of career choices that are open to
girls.
Details of the projects sponsored within the framework of the AFI initiative are listed in the "Guide to Municipal Job Development - 99 Projects for Munich", which you can order (in German only) from the Department of Labor and Economic
Development.

Mentoring models
The Department of Labor and Economic Development initiates, supports and accompanies mentoring models that are designed to increase the proportion of women in management positions. Mentoring is a process in which one person (the mentor) assists with the career and development of another person (the mentee) outside the scope of the usual superior/employee relationship.
Launched in 2001, the Munich Cross-Mentoring Program moves into its fourth year in May
2004.
