European activities of the Department of Labor and Economic Development

The Department of Labor and Economic Development is responsible for coordinating the city's activities in relation to other local authorities throughout Europe. These include:

• Informing the City Council and the various other administrative departments of the City of Munich about the latest EU developments that concern local government interests
• Providing legal advice
• Handling international project work
• Networking
• Performing marketing and lobbying work
• Leading the city administration's workgroup on Europe
• Handling public relations work in relation to the citizens of Munich
