Public
transport in Munich ...
In Munich without
a coach You
would like to explore the town without a coach and the tiresome search
for somewhere to park? Then you should take advantage of Munich's
integrated transport system (MVV) and use the increasingly dense
network of suburban trains (S-Bahn), the underground trains (U-Bahn),
trams and buses.
Our
recommendation: the
partner ticketThe
MVV offers partner day-tickets valid for one day for several persons
and individual day-tickets for one person for one day for the central
area and the entire network. The partner day-ticket is valid for up to
five adults (two children between 6 and 14 years of age count as one
adult).
For groups of school
children partner
tickets are valid for school children up to 9th grade for a maximum of
10 persons.
Purchasing MVV ticketsYou
can buy the tickets at the ticket machines in all suburban train and
underground train stations, at the MVV offices and sales points (kiosks
etc) and at hostel receptions in Munich. At the machines in the trams
and municipal buses individual and day-tickets only are available.

For
night owlsThe MVV night lines: the special night
timetable at
weekends
In
the nights from Friday to Saturday and from Saturday to Sunday the MVV
makes a special service available: the underground trains continue to
operate until about 2 am, and Munich is linked up the whole night at
half-hourly intervals by bus and tram. Shortly after 2 am the S-Bahn
(lines S1-S8) still go to nearly all the terminuses in the region.
