Golf in Munich

No other major city has so much allure for German golfers as Munich. For the ninth year in a row, the city of Munich has been awarded the GOLF JOURNAL Travel Award, which was received by Munich Tourism at the CMT travel trade fair in Stuttgart, on 21st January 2010.

A lot of visitors were of the same opinion: No other major city allows them to combine their favorite sport with sightseeing, culture and shopping, quite as well as Munich does.

Golfers from the whole of German-speaking Europe, praised Munich in particular for the “wide range of courses in beautiful landscapes”, the combination of “mountains, lakes, culture and shopping”, the “easy and fast accessibility” of golf courses in Munich and Upper Bavaria, as well as “Munich’s attractiveness, with its inimitable Bavarian, big-town flair”.

In Upper Bavaria, around 50 golf complexes and clubs are available to golfers, all within a hour’s drive of Munich and set in exquisite scenery. They all offer 18-hole courses. The oldest club, the Munich Golf Club (founded in 1910), is located in Munich itself.
