2007 World Rowing Championships Munich


The world's best rowers have their sights on gold, silver and bronze in Munich-Oberschleissheim this summer. The World Rowing Championships are the highlight of the year on the Olympic regatta course and offer from 26 August till 2 September, beside the high performance sport events, dayly supporting activities. So before, between and after the competitions, entertainment is ensured. Tickets for the championships are available at all Muenchen-Tickets sales points and online at www.munich2007.de. Prices are between EUR 8 for heats and EUR 30 for finals, including local transport by MVV. In addition, a weekly ticket is available for EUR 90.

The 2007 World Rowing Championships are the qualifying event for the Olympic Games in Peking next year and therefore attracts a particularly great number of athletes. The organizers expect approximately 1,200 athletes who will compete for medals in the 28 boat classes. Munich-Oberschleissheim has been the location for Rowing World Cup Regattas on a regular basis since 1997. The last time the World Rowing Championships were held on the regatta course was in 1981. "We are looking forward to offering to the spectators again a first class event" says Bernd Schuhmacher, president of the Organising Committee.
