Christopher Street Day Parade Munich
9th and 10th July 2011
The CSD is the great celebration of the gay community worldwide. It
recalls the year 1969. At that time gays and lesbians for the first
time publicly defended themselves against the unwarranted police raids
and discrimination in Christopher Street, New York. The CSD has been
celebrated in Munich since 1980 and in the meantime is a major event
attracting several tens of thousands of
visitors.
The political parade through the centre of Munich opens the hot CSD
weekend. The street festival on Marienplatz and Rindermarkt offers a
show programme and an open-air
disco that attract the community and thousands of visitors.
