Going to Munich by Train and Bus
Parking is always a problem in downtown Munich, particularly during
Advent. We therefore recommend using the highly efficient public
transport. One step outside the Marienplatz underground station places
you immediately in the middle of the Christmas Market. Bus 52, Bus 131
to Marienplatz and tram 19 also travel directly to the
square. P+R (park and ride) facilities for cars and coaches are also
available at
many underground stations.
If you choose to travel by Deutsche Bahn (German
Railways), you are guaranteed a pleasant ride. And charming discount deals such as the
BahnCard, Bavaria Ticket, or Schoenes-Wochend (Happy Weekend) Ticket will leave you with more money to spend on
presents.
