Literaturhaus

Munich is, next to Hamburg, Germany's main publishing city, and its long literary tradition reflects on how the city and its surroundings have inspired authors and essay writers for decades. To name one internationally renowned literary figure, Thomas Mann wrote his very successful first novel "Buddenbrooks" here. The lively literary scene is not least kept alive by the Literaturhaus (Literature House) that organises readings, events and exhibitions, not only in German.
