Building according to the Purity Law was the main requirement when designing the modern yet traditional Bavarian restaurant. The light, open interior design, which pays homage to the architecture of Munich’s historic Laubenhöfe, radiates with warmth the second you enter the building.

Surrounding the light-flooded atrium, where you’ll also find on-tap beer from wooden barrels, cosy tables (alternative: booths) invite you to sit down and stay awhile. The large round windows, decorated with stunning roses, let Donisl shine in a unique light. Up above there’s the custom-made convertible roof, which allows you to dine under the open sky on hot summer days.

Solo or with others, enjoy a taste of tradition. The Donisl team is convinced that boiled meat both tastes exceptional and is very digestible. That’s why at Donisl they are reviving the Munich culinary tradition of stewed meat, known as the Münchner Siedeküche.

They use various cuts of beef to prepare their traditional boiled dishes. From lean, tender rump, to centre cut with a thin layer of fat, to pickled tongue: At Donisl everyone can select their preferred cut of beef. All boiled dishes are served in a dedicated pot on the table from which you are welcome to serve yourself. Just like at home. Can you imagine a nicer way to enjoy traditional Munich cuisine?
