A parking management system has been implemented to regulate parking in the central areas of Schwabing, Lehel, and Haidhausen/Au. Various districts have been subdivided into parking zones, with different criteria applying to their use. For instance, there are exemptions for certain groups of professionals.

Due to extremely difficult parking city centre, the City has declared so-called “blue zones”. In all of these areas, parking along a blue line is 0.50 euros per 12 minutes or part thereof on business days between 8.00 and 19.00 hrs. In any unmarked areas, there is limited stopping, and where the view is blocked, there is no stopping whatsoever.
Craftsmen, sales agents, and social services staff may apply for an exemption at the Kreisverwaltungsreferat (Regional Administrative Department)
