Press conference with Markus Söder: Changes from 1st July

(01.07.2020) Minister President Markus Söder announced a further relaxation of corona measures after a cabinet meeting in Munich. The compulsory wearing of masks at events have been eased. From 1 July, guests at cultural events and cinemas no longer need to wear a mouth and nose protection at their seats.

Mouth and nose protection at the seat no longer mandatory

Bavaria has made attending events easier! From 1st July, 2020, the obligatory mask wearing at theaters, concert halls and cinemas will be the same as with church services. This means that spectators and guests will be allowed to take off their mouth-nose protection while at their seats in closed rooms - provided the minimum distance is maintained. On the way there, tasks are still mandatory. For the time being, the existing regulations will not change for key participants.

Despite the positive development on the corona situation in Bavaria, Minister President Markus Söder declared at the press conference: "We remain cautious". Therefore, he said, there would be no further changes to the easing corona regulations.
