Everything was ready just in time for the 1972 Olympic Games. It was then that the Olympia Einkaufszentrum, called OEZ for short, opened its doors and presented what at that time was a completely new type of shopping. Regarded by many as one of the most elegant shopping malls in Munich. Between the two large fronts of houses the Kaufingertor opens up to the pedestrian in the Kaufinger Straße. A beam of blue light that passes through the neighbouring building directs your gaze inwards and leads the visitors into the passage with shops for fashion, delicatessen and much more.
