One day, one game, one Munich football festival
31 May 2025 - one day, one evening and one match for the history books! With a 5:0 win over Inter Milan, Paris Saint-Germain won the Champions League for the first time in the club's history. There was no end to the jubilation among the fans travelling with them to the Munich Football Arena, but also among the thousands of PSG supporters at the public screening on Königsplatz.
But Munich is not only celebrating an exciting football match between Paris Saint-Germain and Inter Milan, but also a big football festival throughout the city and on many days. Not just for those who have tickets, but for everyone! For the fans of the final teams who have travelled to Munich and for everyone who lives in Munich and whose heart beats a little faster when it comes to football.
The Champions Festival in the Olympic Park

One football match, four days of colourful fan festivities in the Olympic Park: the ‘Champions Festival’ for the Munich 25 Final began on Thursday, 29 May and runs until Sunday, 1 June. As with EURO 2024, there will be an exciting, varied programme for the whole family. Of course, the final was also broadcast here in a public screening with thousands of fans in the best football atmosphere.
Admission is free, but access to the Champions Festival will be closed in the event of overcrowding.
The Fan Meeting Points

The final was not just celebrated in Fröttmaning, there was also plenty going on in the centre of Munich: especially at the two official fan meeting points on Odeonsplatz and Königsplatz. On the day of the final, 31 May, supporters of both teams met here and got in the mood for the final with live music and a stage programme in perfect football weather. The Inter fans celebrated on Odeonsplatz, while Königsplatz was reserved for PSG supporters, where a large public screening was also held in the evening.
Inter Milan, PSG and Munich

Inter Milan and Paris Saint-Germain are not only closely linked to Munich in sporting terms - their home cities have also cultivated diverse relationships with the metropolis on the Isar for decades. There are numerous parallels between Milan and Munich: Both cities are important economic and cultural centres, share a fondness for design and enjoyment - and look back on a close footballing connection. Karl-Heinz Rummenigge celebrated great success at Inter, Giovanni Trapattoni was coach at both the Nerazzurri and FC Bayern. Paris and Munich have a long Champions League history: since their first clash in 1994, there have been many emotional matches, including the 2020 final. They have also crossed paths on the transfer market - for example with Juan Bernat and Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting. So when Inter and PSG now meet in Munich, there is a lot of shared history in this final - on the pitch and beyond.
‘We all are Champions’

It's not just the PSG stars who are champions in the final. But rather: We all are champions. Students or people with disabilities, artists who are inspired by sport, particularly fair teams, football-loving girls, creative creators - and of course the fans.
Host City Munich was celebrating its everyday champions - you! - with lots of big and small events taking place throughout the city around the final. At the Champions Festival in the Olympic Park, at the Fan Meeting Point on Königsplatz and at other locations. It's about all the big topics of football: diversity, art & culture, inclusion, girls' football, fans, fair play, pub football, eSports, schools, encouragers and creators.

Linkin Park and David Garrett performed at UEFA Champions League Final

Right before kick-off, things got rocking in the Munich Football Arena: before kick-off, the band Linkin Park played an exclusive ‘Kick Off Show’ in the stadium with a setlist of their greatest hits.
Star violinist David Garrett also performed on the pitch, while the two club legends Javier Zanetti and Javier Pastore brought the trophy of desire onto the pitch. The German violin virtuoso brought the arena to a boil with a newly arranged version of the White Stripes classic ‘Seven Nation Army’.
UEFA Ultimate Tournament
As part of the Champions Festival, the UEFA Ultimate Tournament took place in the SAP Garden on Friday, 30 May 2025. International legends and former Champions League stars such as Figo, Cafu and Lothar Matthäus were taking part. All information can be found at uefa.com/legends.
Trophy Experience: The trophy tours Munich

Nineteen days before the UEFA Champions League final in Munich, the trophy arrived in the host city of Munich as part of the official ‘Trophy Experience’. On 12 May 2025, Mayor Verena Dietl received the trophy on behalf of the state capital on the so-called Champion's Balcony of City Hall.
The Champions League trophy had already been on display in the Olympic Park - the venue for the Champions Festival - and was placed in front of the Bavaria statue for an official photo. The Bavaria is part of this year's UEFA final design. In the evening, the handle pot was placed at the Friedensengel.
Further stops were planned for Tuesday, 13 May and Wednesday, 14 May. These included visits to partner institutions and municipal authorities (police and fire brigade) involved in the organisation of the final as well as appointments as part of the city's ‘We all are champions’ campaign.
MucAware at the Champions Festival and at the Fan Meeting Points
As part of the Champions Festival in the Olympiapark and the fan meeting points at Königsplatz and Odeonsplatz around the Champions League final, MucAware was on site with awareness teams. MucAware is a project of AKIM (All-Party Conflict Management in Munich) and its teams offer low-threshold support for fans who feel harassed, discriminated against, threatened or otherwise unsafe. This provides targeted support directly on site for people affected by discrimination and (sexualized) violence.
All members of the awareness teams wore purple vests with the MucAware logo and were also available to fans by phone via the respective telephone numbers. The awareness points were equipped with various materials for psychological or physical first aid. If necessary, affected persons were referred to the appropriate counseling or contact points in Munich. The MucAware project is offered by the Social Department of the City of Munich and uses awareness work to promote diversity and combat discrimination.
