Dates of the LGBTIQ* community at the Oktoberfest
Queer events at the Oktoberfest
The Oktoberfest stands for diversity and openness. Queer events such as Gay Sunday or the Prosecco Oktoberfest have long been an integral part of the festival and attract many visitors from the LGBTIQ* community every year to celebrate together. We present the dates to you here.

Rosa Wiesn Tapping
The unofficial Rosa Wiesn tapping in the Käfer tent beer garden marks the start of LGBTIQ* events at the Oktoberfest. Every year, the association "Wiesn-Ministerium" invites the queer scene and its friends to the beer garden around the maypole. As a special souvenir, you can purchase a limited Oktoberfest pin here. Rainbow colors are welcome here.
GaySunday
GaySunday is the largest LGBTIQ* event at the Oktoberfest and one of the most traditional meetings of the community. For over 40 years, thousands of queers have flocked to the Bräurosl marquee at the invitation of the Munich Lions Fetish Club (MLC Munich) to celebrate exuberantly for a day. It starts at 9 a.m. and the party lasts into the evening. Live music and the special atmosphere characterize this event. Tickets are required for the balcony, otherwise you can spread out wherever you want. But you have to expect a rush!

RoslMontag
If you missed GaySunday or want to continue celebrating, come back to the Bräurosl the following Monday. From 3 p.m. you can sit down in the beer garden or in the back of the tent under the balcony. The unofficial RoslMontag is especially popular with those who want to experience the Oktoberfest atmosphere among like-minded people once again in a smaller group.

Subavaria
The Schwules Kommunikations- und Kulturzentrum München e.V. – Sub for short – invites you to the Oktoberfest: The "Subavaria" celebrated its premiere in 2024 and offers 300 reserved seats in Kuffler's Weinzelt. For the tables, the minimum consumption is 90 euros per person and includes a special snack and drinks. But even without a table reservation, there is standing room where you only pay for what you consume. And if there is still some money left over after the Wiesn party: The sub asks for additional donations for queer work.

Queer Kegeln
Queer bowling at the Oide Wiesn combines Bavarian tradition with the LGBTIQ* community for the second time. On the historic bowling alley you can experience a rainbow-colored bowling party with DJ James, the United Queens of Munich and the Schwuhplattler. This event offers not only fun and games, but also the opportunity to get to know the queer community in a sporting environment.

Proud Wiesn
The Proud Wiesn has been taking place since 2016 in Peter Inselkammer's Armbrustschützenzelt and is the somewhat different "company Oktoberfest". Launched by BMW's LGBTIQ* employee network and Diversity Tourism, the event on the second Sunday of the Oktoberfest offers a meeting place for members of queer corporate groups and their friends. The event regularly attracts over 350 participants and has become a fixed date for the community. Reservations are required to be there.

Prosecco Wiesn
As the second major queer Oktoberfest event, the "Prosecco Wiesn" has established itself in the tent of the Fischer-Vroni. The name comes from the Prosecco bar, whose now deceased gay landlord brought the unofficial meeting place to life. Of course, you can also drink beer here, but Prosecco and other sparkling drinks give the party a glamorous character.

Gay Oktoberfest finale
After the firecracker shooting, there has long been a queer closing tradition at the Oktoberfest. On the last day, the gay community meets in the Schottenhamel marquee at the "Warm Kitchen" in a relaxed atmosphere. With traditional Bavarian delicacies and the last litre of beer, the guests let the Oktoberfest end together.
