Dates of the LGBTIQ* community at the Oktoberfest
Queer events at the Oktoberfest
The Oktoberfest stands for diversity and openness. Queer events such as Gay Sunday or the Prosecco Oktoberfest have long been an integral part of the festival and attract many visitors from the LGBTIQ* community every year to celebrate together. We present the dates to you here.

Pink Oktoberfest tapping – September 20
The unofficial Rosa Wiesn tapping ceremony in the Käfer tent beer garden marks the start of LGBTIQ* events at the Wiesn. Every year, the “Wiesn-Ministerium” association invites the queer scene and their friends to the beer garden around the maypole. As a special souvenir, you can purchase a limited edition Wiesn pin here. Rainbow colors are welcome here.

Gay Sunday – September 21

GaySunday is the largest LGBTIQ* event at Oktoberfest and one of the community's most traditional gatherings. For over 40 years, thousands of queer people have been flocking to the Bräurosl tent at the invitation of the Münchner Löwen fetish club (MLC Munich) to celebrate exuberantly for a whole day. The party starts at 9 a.m. and continues into the evening. Live music and a special atmosphere characterize this event. Tickets are required for the balcony, but otherwise you can spread out wherever you like. But be prepared for crowds!

- When: September 21, 2025, starting at 10:30 a.m.
RoslMonday – September 22
If you missed GaySunday or want to keep the party going, come back to Bräurosl on the following Monday. From 3 p.m., you can settle down in the beer garden or at the back of the tent under the balcony. The unofficial RoslMontag is especially popular with those who want to experience the Oktoberfest atmosphere among like-minded people in a smaller group.

- When: September 22, 2025, starting at 3 p.m.
Subavaria – September 24
The Munich Gay Communication and Cultural Center (Sub) invites you to Oktoberfest: Subavaria is back at Oktoberfest for the second time and once again offers reserved seats in Kuffler's wine tent. But even without a table reservation, there are standing room tickets where you only pay for what you consume. And if you have some money left over after the Oktoberfest party, Sub is asking for additional donations for its queer work.

Queer Bowling - September 28
Queer Bowling at the Oidn Wiesn brings Bavarian tradition and the LGBTIQ* community together for the second time. At the historic bowling alley, you can experience a rainbow-colored bowling party with DJ James Munich, drag queens, and the Schwuhplattlern. This event offers not only fun and games, but also the opportunity to get to know the queer community in a sporting environment.

Proud Wiesn – September 28
Proud Wiesn has been held in Peter Inselkammer's Armbrustschützenzelt since 2016 and is a slightly different kind of “company Oktoberfest.” Created by BMW's LGBTIQ* employee network and Diversity Tourism, the event on the second Sunday of Oktoberfest offers a meeting place for members of queer corporate groups and their friends. The event regularly attracts over 350 participants and has become a fixture for the community. Reservations are required to attend.
- Where: Armbrustschützenzelt
- When: September 28, 2025, from 4:30 p.m.
Prosecco Wiesn – September 29

The second major queer Oktoberfest event is the “Prosecco Wiesn” in the Fischer-Vroni tent. The name comes from the Prosecco bar, whose now deceased gay owner started the unofficial gathering. Of course, you can also drink beer here, but Prosecco and other sparkling drinks give the party its glamorous character.

- When: September 29, 2025, from 1:00 p.m.
Gay Oktoberfest finale – October 5
After the fireworks display, there is now also a queer closing tradition at the Wiesn. On the last day, the gay community meets in the Schottenhamel tent at the “Warme Küche” in a relaxed atmosphere. Guests bring the Oktoberfest to a close together with traditional Bavarian delicacies and their last Maß of beer.

- When: October 5, 2025, from 1 p.m.
