Restaurant La Sophia: Italian hospitality

In line with the Italian way of life, child-friendliness is the hallmark of La Sophia in the Au district not far from the city center. In addition to the ever-popular classics such as penne with tomato sauce, pizza margherita and children's cappuccino, the restaurant has a colorful corner for bambini lined with toys at lunchtime. If the waiters have time, they also fool around with the little ones or hand out candy. On special days, such as Halloween, the program includes activities such as face painting.

Restaurant Preysinggarten: meeting place in the family quarter

The Haidhausen district east of the Isar river is one of the city's highest birth rate neighborhoods. So it's no wonder that the family-friendly Preysinggarten has become a real magnet for young local parents. The service staff, including mothers, are very understanding of frolicking children and bring painting materials and highchairs for the little guests without being asked.

There are boxes of books and toys in the restaurant to counteract boredom. When the weather is nice, the kids enjoy themselves on the adjacent playground. A beautifully designed children's menu will please the youngest. And best of all, after the meal they can enjoy a scoop of ice cream with Smarties or lick a lollipop for free.

Operngrill Brenner: Family hangout with historic flair

The Operngrill Brenner is located in the heart of the city. The former riding stable of the Residenz is a magnet for families, especially on Sundays. To make sure everyone finds a seat, be sure to make a reservation!

In the impressive vault, parents relaxedly feast on the delicious egg and grilled dishes of the Sunday brunch, while professional caretakers keep an eye on the offspring in a separate children's area with all kinds of toys. So that young visitors can let off steam among their peers, they are divided into small groups according to age.

Restaurant Freizeit: Children's paradise on Sundays

The Restaurant Freizeit at Tübingerstraße 10 offers action for children and relaxation for adults. In other words: a perfect mix for a successful family leisure time.

"Children's paradise in the Westend" is the motto on winter Sundays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.: While parents enjoy Bavarian and Mediterranean delicacies at family brunch on Sundays, their kids can play under the supervision of trained educators. All year round, children can celebrate their birthdays in the restaurant with games and handicrafts.

Ratskeller Munich: Brunch with childcare

The Happy Secco Familybrunch at Munich's Ratskeller takes place every Sunday from mid-October to the end of May. On selected dates, the long-established restaurant on Marienplatz even serves themed buffets.

So that parents can enjoy the meal in peace, there's active childcare. Under the guidance of a staff member, the kids can paint chef's hats, do arts and crafts, or get colorful face painting. During the Christmas season, they can bake cookies and watch a puppet show. Afterwards, they can enjoy a regular snack at the chocolate fountain.

If the little ones don't find what they are looking for at the themed buffet, the kitchen also prepares typical children's dishes such as schnitzel and dumplings. Tip: The Ratskeller has its own children's menu.

Café Reitschule: Family brunch near the English Garden

Sundays and holidays are family days! At the family brunch at the Reitschule (Königinstr. 34) they can be celebrated properly. To get a seat, be sure to make a reservation!

From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. there is a buffet in the studio and on the sun terrace: Oysters, smoked fish, roast beef, raw vegetable platters, pâtés, terrines, antipasti - the culinary offer is huge.

And because busy youngsters usually quickly run out of things to sit on, childcare workers keep them entertained with a program of activities, crafts and games. A perfect way to start the day! And afterwards? A digestive walk in the English Garden, of course!
