1. Fashion for men - with style
"The Second Gerdismann" is the perfect place for men with style to shop - and a little spot for big brand-names. At Barerstraße 74 in Maxvorstadt district, store owner Nina Bauer accepts well-preserved clothes and accessories from popular men brands (on commission) for three months. "Many items are unplanned puchases by customers" she reveals. Well-organized and with an eye for quality, The Second Gerdismann almost looks like a boutique. Unsold items are not disposed off after the 3-month commission period, but go back to the wardrobes of their previous sellers. Visit this spot if you are a man with style in Munich.

2. Thirty years of second hand business in Munich
The two shops, "Second Hand Maier-Spitzbarth" and "Fräulein Spitzbarth", are located next to each other at Schellingstraße 73 - and are both family businesses. The "Fräulein Spitzbarth" boutique is run by Frauke Spitzbarth. Her mother Marietta Maier-Spitzbarth has been owner of the second-hand shop for over 30 years. They accept good quality women's clothing and also designer items - on commission. They support sustainability and once said: "People must be aware of how much water new clothes use."
Frauke focuses on carefully selected (designer) items for younger people. However, two things in the shops are definately not for sale: the two pugs - Paul and Bismarck.

3. Exclusive items from an indigenous Munich shop
Just a stone's throw away from the Viktualienmarkt, you can dive into the vintage world of "Vintage Love" - a second-hand shop at Frauenstraße 22 . Owner, Inge Grandl specializes in evening wears and accessories - with attention to detail. Since 2002, all items in the 160-square-meter shop have been "hand-picked" and none has been sold twice. Grandl is also a Munich native who once managed the legendary "Park Café" and "P1" nightclub with her husband, Hansi Grandl. "Back then, people really went out," she reveals. The idea of opening a vintage shop in Munich was born from her private collection of high-quality evening wears.

4. Special vintage treasures with a history
Small but nice - is motto of "Cat with a Hat" located at Baaderstraße 53 in the Glockenbach district. Silvia Schreiber and her husband, René Maria Lutz have a knack for unique pieces of vintage fashion, costume jewellery and watches from decades ago. What makes them special is that all pieces (some collected without ease from the US) retain any small quirks, such as discoloration, stains or small holes, that ensure the historical significance of each accessory.
The Second-Hand duo, who claimed that their home would probably fill a second shop, noticed again and again how TV series influence their customers' interests. Since the 20s series, "Babylon Berlin", made it to everyone's watch list, customers storm the shop in search of clothes from that era. There's something for all those who appreciate items with little anecdotes.

5. Luxury brand shopping in Haidhausen
Barbara Dockhorn has been running her second-hand shop, "Macy", in Haidhausen since 1998. With a modern ambience and a large sign pointing towards designer goods, she attracts customers into her shop situated at Johannisplatz 20. The items aren't dusty and outdated. There's a wide range of ladies' and men's clothing and accessories filling the three rooms. Many high-quality pieces by renowned designers can also be found on the clothes rails. Don't get too carried away in your shopping frenzy and stumble over her female dog, Frida. Barbara Dockhorn only accepts items in extremely good condition. They remain on offer for three months, and one extra month on sale (if you wish).
