For a great day out with your kids, visit the Bavaria Film Studios, where "Das Boot" and many successful German films and TV series were shot. The stunt show with special effects is an exciting entertainment for the whole family. Children can ride on the "Fuchur" dragon from the "Neverending Story", while parents might be more interested in walking round the "Das Boot" submarine. Guided tours take about 90 minutes, and since you'll be walking inside the studios as well as outside, you should bring comfortable shoes and raincoats, if need be. Of course there's weelchair access too, and dogs on a leash are welcome as well.

How to get there:

The Bavaria Studios is located south of Munich in Grünwald / Geiselgasteig. You can get there either by public transport or private car.

Public Transport:
Tram line 25 to Grünwald, exit Bavariafilmplatz.

By car:
via Grünwalder Straße to Grünwald / Bad Tölz; in Grünwald-Geiselgasteig, a "Bavaria Filmstadt" sign to the left will guide you there.

There's a daily guided tour in English.
