Dinatale Café: Dolce vita alla Roma

The motto of the café is: "Il miglior caffè de la città". In English: The best coffee in town. Those who have already understood this without a dictionary already know: The "Dinatale" is the meeting place for all fans of the sweet Italian life.

Here you are not only greeted with a warm "Ciao", but you can also drink your cappuccino at the bar. Perhaps accompanied by a cantuccini or a pasticcini?

Insider tip: Choose one of the fruity cakes - the "Dinatale" is known for this far beyond the Schwabing district, where the Dinatale operates no less than three cafes.

Café Maelu: Macarons à la Française

The Café Maelu (German page) is recognizable by the fact that all passers-by press their noses against its shop window. There they are lined up: the finest tarts and cakes - each a small work of art in its own right.

In addition to the incredibly large selection of cakes, you should also try the house macarons. You'll feel like you're in Paris!

Conditorei Münchner Freiheit: Real Schwabing flair

Right in the heart of the Schwabing district is the family-run business of Conditorei Münchner Freiheit (German customer page). The Eisenrieders themselves serve behind the counter or whiz into the café garden with a slice of cake.

The wide selection holds something for every taste. Our tip: the Sacher-Torte! And if the weather permits: Be sure to sit outside and enjoy watching the Munich strollers.

Brand new: The vegan café Om Nom Nom (German page)! Ironically, in a former butcher shop, Marlen and Daniel, the owners of Om Nom Nom, have opened their own café in the Sendling district.

In addition to delicious cake creations ranging from cheesecake to brownies to banana bread, there is also coffee, smoothies, sandwiches and changing lunch dishes - all vegan! Very special is the vegan cheese, such as Camembert or Parmesan, which you can try and also buy there.

Konditorei Café Kreutzkamm: Baumkuchen!

There's only one address for Baumkuchen fans in Munich: Café Kreutzkamm, which was originally founded in Dresden in 1825. The two Munich branches on Maffeistraße (German page) and Pacellistraße (German page) offer a wide variety of pastries.

Tip: When the sun is shining, the outdoor terrace on Pacellistraße is especially inviting for an afternoon coffee with cake.

Café Luitpold: exquisite creations

The coffee house on Brienner Straße (German page) is a Munich institution with a sinfully good cake counter. A large team of in-house pastry chefs bakes the finest creations every day.

In addition to the pear, blueberry or redcurrant meringue cake, the Luitpoldtorte is especially recommended. A dream of six thin layers of airy mass, separated by a cream of French white wine, cognac and noble marzipan, covered with Belgian dark chocolate.
