Mandarin Oriental: Hotel roof with bar and pool

This roof terrace really whets the appetite for a sundowner with a view of the city's rooftops: the bar, lounge and restaurant in the 5-star Mandarin Oriental hotel are all home to Asian-South American cuisine. The 360-degree panoramic view including a rooftop pool make the Mahjong Roof Garden a real gem.

So treat yourself to a "Green Garden," take a seat on the stylish furniture and leave your smartphone in your pocket. You can actually enjoy this view in a completely analog way. And when the spicy smell of bao buns and bowls, seafood and wasabi hits your nose, you probably won't be able to say "no".

Iconic scene plus a dream view: Hotel Deutsche Eiche

Located in the heart of the Gärtnerplatz district, the roof terrace at the iconic Hotel Deutsche Eiche boasts an amazing view of many of Munich’s landmarks. With the Alter Peter and the Frauenkirche seemingly a mere twenty meters away, the Gärtnerplatz Theater on the other side looks near enough to touch. You can even see the distinctive residential buildings in Giesing and Haidhausen from there. Take a seat at one of the comfy, small tables or make your way to the bar to enjoy a cocktail. Hotel Deutsche Eiche is a landmark of the creative scene and represents the center of Munich’s LGBT culture like no other place in the city. When the weather is nice, drinks are being served on the roof. If the weather is being less cooperative, you can always order a coffee or drinks in the restaurant downstairs and bring them with you up to the terrace bar.
